I love being in the kitchen, especially yo bake, earlier this week I decided that I would be making bread pudding for our regular cook outs I have with some friends of mine. It is a traditional Haitian dish simple referred to as "pudin" to us natives :-) and oh so yummy! My kitchen smells so good right now! here's the recipe if you'd like to try it!
2 cans evaporated milk
1 tbsp butter, melted
28 oz day old bread
5 cups milk
3/4 cup sugar
1/4 tsp salt
2 tsp ground cinnamon
1 tsp vanilla extract
3 eggs
combine evaporated milk and butter in a large bowl and add in bread and raisins and milk. let stand 30 minutes to soak.
preheat oven to 350
combine sugar, salt, cinnamon, vanilla and eggs in a bowl, mix well, combine it with the bread.
pour mixture into a well greased 9x13 pan and back for approx an hour
let cool 30 minutes, then enjoy!
*keep refridgerated
